Mechanical SBU Assistant

The Mechanical SBU Assistant will support the Mechanical Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical engineering projects within construction and engineering operations. This role involves assisting with project management, procurement, quality control, documentation, and team coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Job Description

Internal Sales Support:

Support the full scope of Mechanical General & Mechanical Valves products
Work closely with the estimation team & SBU lead to generate accurate and timely quotes, review detailed technical specifications for bidding processes, use the CRM to track pending internal sales tasks and flag any bottlenecks
Collaborate with SBU lead to ensure alignment with strategies and objectives to maximize sales potential
Maintain and manage a monthly bookings quota, reporting sales and forecasting figures to suppliers for accurate business planning
Source new suppliers to enhance the product offering and maintain competitive pricing and product quality
Collaborate with Estimation team to ensure competitive pricing & databases are maintained ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information
Prepare technical proposals with a focus on speed, accuracy, and providing detailed technical information
Administer proposals within the CRM system, ensuring deal information is updated accordingly
Log new deals into the CRM system, ensuring all relevant details are recorded accurately.
Provide back-office support to the Technical Sales team, assisting with administrative tasks
Regularly review client portals for new tenders and opportunities.
Oversee compliance with mandatory and technical requirements of the tenders
Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including compiling technical and commercial information.

Valve Workshop Service Works:

Prepare and issue quotations for valve servicing & valves spares, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
Coordinate the delivery of valves to and from the workshop for servicing, ensuring smooth logistics
Supervise the service works in the valve workshop, ensuring quality standards and timelines are met
Follow up on the progress of valve servicing works, maintaining communication with the workshop and the SBU head
Ensure completed valves are delivered to the client in a timely manner by co ordinating with the PMO team

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Experience:

1–3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
Experience with project coordination and procurement processes is an advantage.
