Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Statistician will include:
Design and conduct statistical analyses to support data-driven decision-making.
Develop, implement, and maintain statistical models to improve results.
Perform data cleaning, preparation, and exploratory analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, epidemiologists, health officials, funders and decision-makers, to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
Prepare and present bulletins, reports, visualizations, and dashboards to effectively communicate findings
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data throughout the analysis process.
Stay current with the latest statistical methods, tools, and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree (or higher) in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in statistical analysis and modeling.
At least 3 publications in peer reviewed journals
Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, or STATA.
Strong expertise in statistical methodologies such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, time-series analysis and Bayesian modeling.
Experience working with large datasets and performing data cleaning and preparation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for presenting complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or ggplot2.
Experience with machine learning techniques and predictive modelling.
Familiarity with databases and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques such as Bayesian statistics and Monte Carlo simulations.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
