Network Administrator ICT Systems Administrator

Reporting to the ICT Manager, the Network Administrator must be a self-driven person who will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the Group’s Network infrastructure.

The Network Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that the network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and communication systems, is secure, reliable, and efficient.

Duties and responsibilities

Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards while at the same time adhering to the Company’s Policies, Processes, and Procedures with respect to Network systems support and IT Service Management.
Performing Network maintenance, migration, and upgrading hardware and software. Management of both core and branch networks.
To manage group network security-related projects, and ensure incidents, problems and, escalations are dealt with according to a defined set of policies, processes, procedures and SLA’s.
Work with vendors to research emerging technologies, diagnose, and resolve network problems.
Utilize tools to monitor the network to ensure optimum performance and troubleshoot issues.
Maintain internet links, and work with other units in the ICT department and staff in the integration, maintenance, and problem resolution of network services.
Maintain documentation relating to network setups and configuration, and work with Procurement Services in the preparation and evaluation of bid specifications for network hardware and software.
Ensuring alignment of the Network Projects towards the company strategy such as greater reach, industry competitiveness, and overall profitability.
Setting up LAN and WAN networks, as well as Voice Over IP, VPNs, and other network links that facilitate integrations across various platforms with the Madison Group’s core systems: Including analytics platforms, financial systems, and communication systems (SMS and Email).
Infrastructure optimization – Conduct regular assessments to identify and address network bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance network performance and scalability.
Perform any other administrative tasks that may be assigned by the Head of Information Technology and management that relate to the assigned systems.

Requisite Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
Certification in Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) is mandatory while CCNP is preferred.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in IT with, 2 years in a network support role within large highly digitized organization managing mission-critical systems.
Experience with new network technologies e.g SDWAN is an added advantage.
Exceptional ability to troubleshoot, provide network support and resolve errors.
Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).
Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Good understanding of the financial services industry and how IT contributes to the success of financial institutions.
ITIL Service Level Management certification is an added advantage.
