Change Manager

WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Change Manager (CM) develops and implements change management strategies and tactics, independently for small- to medium-scale changes or under direction of a Senior Change Manager for large-scale changes. 
The Change Manager (CM) is a key contributing member of the change management team and change community of practice. As assigned, they will complete required change deliverables to ensure adoption of new behaviors and minimize disruption caused by changes.  The CM will act as the Change Management Lead for small to medium projects and assist with large-scale projects. 
The CM partners with other functions and business leaders to ensure effective sponsorship, engagement, communications, training, and adoption.
The CM serves as a subject matter expert on organizational change and helps to improve the overall change capability of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

Follows and helps develop a standard practice for change management and deployment.
Identifies change risks and develops plans to mitigate those risks and ensure adoption and benefits realization.
Analyzes the stakeholders and impacts involved in a change.
Develops change strategies and change management plans, including sponsorship plans, engagement and communication plans, training plans, and change measurement plans.
Working with sponsors and the project team, determines and measures appropriate change metrics.
As needed, sometimes in partnership with appropriate teams, develops communications and training materials. 
Collaborates cross-functionally on projects to manage to a plan and ensure alignment.
Uses relationship-building and communications skills to influence without authority. 
Coaches leaders and key stakeholders on how to effectively support change.
Recognizes, documents, and shares best demonstrated practices across the organization.
Occasional travel may be required.
Designs, manages and implements multiple projects by coordinating the work of other professionals inside and outside the organization.  
Responsibility and accountability for meeting strategic goals and objectives.
Opportunity to act independently within specific program or project goals. Work checked through agreement by superiors.
May manage one or more professional staff and be accountable for achievement of team business and professional development goals and objectives.

Reputable Change Management certification or designation useful.
Excellent presentation, mediation, negotiation, and written/verbal/visual communication skills.
Familiarity with change management best practices and their application at a decentralized organization.
Master’s degree or extensive professional experience.
Expertise in metrics and data analysis.
Experience using varied communications tools and channels.
Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
Management experience that includes ability to lead, motivate, set objectives, manage performance, and resolve conflicts.
Familiarity with communication technologies and best practices.
Ability to persuasively convey the mission of The Nature Conservancy to diverse groups within TNC and occasionally external stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 8 years related experience or equivalent combination.
Experience in leading all aspects of change management on small to medium projects. 
Experience developing and executing change management plans for large-scale, complex projects or programs including measuring results.
Experience developing communications and training materials.
Experience cultivating and managing stakeholder relationships at all levels of an organization.
