Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting including monthly closings, monthly/ quarterly financial statement preparation, financial and statutory audit, general ledger,
fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
Ensure all transactions are recorded and coded accurately in QuickBooks
Liaise with the accountants in Uganda and Tanzania to ensure local accounts are prepared timeously and accurately
Prepare project budgets and submit them for approval Work with the Finance Director to Prepare Quarterly budgets, which should be measured against the business’s actual performance. Variances should be reported with supporting explanations.
Prepare and maintain up-to-date operational cashflow which clearly shows inflows, outflows, bank balances, and any other information that might be necessary
Maintain accurate accounts receivables and payables reports that are reconciled at any given point
Maintain asset register that is updated and reconciled on a monthly basis with additions, disposals, and any other relevant information
Prepare and share audit schedules when requested
Ad Hoc duties and support to the broader team
Requirement
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and accounting skills.
Solid understanding of GAAP and relevant regulations.
Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Experience with audit preparations (CPA or CMA preferred).
Excellent communication and problemsolving abilities.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
