Data Analyst

Role Context:

We are completing a fresh re-platforming of our data architecture.  As a result we have an exciting and varied portfolio of work planned across Girl Effect, including conducting research to inform our programme set-up in new geographies like Kenya; impact evaluations of established programmes in countries like India, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and South Africa; ongoing monitoring – including of our digital products using analytics and other digital methods; creative and content testing to understand how girls are engaging with our output; experimental approaches to longitudinal evaluation; and a range of other work. 

With these important workstreams starting, we are looking for a Data Analyst experienced with digital methods, excited to work across various programmes & geographies, who brings a flexible can-do attitude to their work.  You will take ownership of our business intelligence platform, ensuring our teams effectively leverage the extensive scope of data available. Remote based you will be located in one of our established geographies, in a time zone conducive to working with teams in the UK, USA, Sub-Saharan Africa & India synchronously and asynchronously. 

Duties and responsibilities:  

Design and deliver tailored Power BI dashboards for stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, E&I, Programs, Fundraising), ensuring actionable insights.
Analyze product and program data to track user interactions, providing insights for impact assessments.
Perform data manipulation, cleaning, and statistical analysis using big data tools, leveraging Azure for data management and Power BI for reporting.
Manage databases and oversee data warehousing with Azure to ensure efficient storage and retrieval.
Continuously adopt new tools and technologies to enhance data processes.

Education and experience:  

Degree educated or equivalent qualification preferable.
Expertise in Python (pandas) and SQL for data analysis.
Extensive professional experience as a data analyst or related field 
Proficiency with Azure and Power BI as part of the data architecture.
Experience working with digital analytics data (e.g. Facebook analytics, Google Analytics etc.)
Familiarity with database infrastructure and its role in data reporting.
Ability to use digital analytics to inform strategic decisions related to products, interventions, or outcomes.
Proven experience presenting both basic and advanced data analyses to diverse teams, helping them interpret and utilize data effectively.
Able to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
Demonstrated skills in producing accurate, high quality, innovative and engaging research presentations and briefings for diverse audiences. 
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage and coordinate data analysis projects, ensuring timely delivery of insights and reports.
Adept at documenting methodologies, processes and findings clearly for future reference. 
Cultural sensitivity and awareness, with an understanding of the contexts in which Girl Effect operates.
Experience coordinating work-streams across multiple geographies and ability to work effectively in multicultural teams with varying expertise, skills and backgrounds.
