Role Purpose:
The Nutrition Coordinator, OFDA, will play a key role in the successful implementation of the OFDA project by leading effective, efficient and quality CMAM and IYCF-E nutrition activities. The Nutrition Coordinator will hold overall accountability for ensuring the Save the Children nutrition response is implemented with high quality and best practices, following international, national and donor guidelines for CMAM/IMAM and IYCF-E. The Nutrition Coordinator will be responsible for day to day operations of the OFDA nutrition response and will be held accountable for timely and quality implementation, budget management, logistics and HR as it relates to OFDA nutrition response. She/he will be expected to represent Save the Children externally and maintain close working relationships with Ministry of Health and other stakeholders and partners. The post holder will be the driver of Save the Children’s OFDA nutrition strategy and will represent Save the Children’s interest and values in all aspects of their work.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
University Degree in Health/Public Health/Nutrition/Agriculture or equivalent
At least three (3) years’ experience of emergency nutrition work and the design and implementation of feeding programmes (ideally CMAM including monitoring and evaluation)
Proven experience in Project Management
Experience in conducting nutrition assessments and an understanding of nutritional surveillance and information systems
Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff
Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions.
Proactive approach and demonstrable ability function well under pressure.
Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment.
Ability and willingness to frequently travel and stay at the field.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
Experience and ability to represent SC nutrition work in external meetings.
Demonstrable ability at report writing and excellent communication skills.
Computer literate.
Fluency in written and spoken English, Kiswahili and local languages.
Desirable:
Qualified Nutritionist with primary health care/community health care experience.
Budget management and operational experience an asset.
