Job description
Lendable is looking for an individual who will join their business development team and be responsible for driving their strategy to expand into markets in East, West and Southern Africa as well as manage new product rollouts. This person will also be looking at establishment and maintenance of strategic partnerships with various sector/ industry channels with the overall aim of finding leads in line with their overall business objectives. This is a critical role within the business as they look to expand the scope of their reach in the region
What you will do:
Segment alternative lenders and identify segment needs and challenges
Define effective geographic market entry strategy and analyze the cost benefit of new market entry
Prepare strategy documents for the board on growth and expansion
Spearhead marketing process for alternative lenders including conferences, Lendable sponsored events, workshops, etc in new and existing markets
Maintain and grow network of partners and identify organizations, from which business leads can be drawn from
Work with BD team to crystallize and document new alternative lender financial product needs and manage rollout of new features and product
Ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment
Required Experience:
5+ years at a rapidly growing international fintech company working in expansion strategy, new products, or new markets. This would preferably be in financial service industry
3+ year experience is design or expansion rollout strategy
Experience working with marketing firms on event and content creation
Experience in preparing strategy documents for senior executives
Experience in facilitating & leading meetings
Ability to leverage existing and expanding networks to identify potential partnerships

2. Project design capabilities
a. Exceptional ability to design strategies for new product channels
b. Naturally creates and tracks against KPIs
c. Can analyze cost benefit of new market entry
3. Real time processing
a. Exceptional ability to make strong recommendations and debate merits of tough trade offs
b. Can get into numbers with clients in real time
c. Can adapt to complex and challenging questions
