HR Manager – Investment Company

The HR Manager’s accountabilities will include but not limited to:
Work in partnership with business leadership to develop a comprehensive HR strategy and processes to effectively support the HR needs of the business
Provide leadership in the definition and implementation of innovative and progressive HR services in the areas of remuneration, recruitment, employee engagement, talent management and retention, training, performance management, people development and succession planning
Work in partnership with the senior management team to identify the people implications of strategic and business plans and other developments.
Provide a consultancy service to the business leadership that delivers HR best practice and commercially focused HR solutions that support the business
Oversee compensation and benefits management to ensure a robust process and best practice.
Define, review and maintain HR principles, policies and procedures in line with best practice whilst compliant to the Kenyan employment laws
Identify short, medium and long term resourcing issues. Build and maintain plans to manage workforce supply and demand, replacement and recruitment and retention strategies.
Embed a performance management culture as a means of driving business improvement by ensuring clear objectives, feedback and the improvement
Provide transformational advice on various aspects of HR Management including job design, performance management, recognition and reward, retention, people development, change management, organizational restructures, job role design etc.
Maintain day to day financial control of the HR department within agreed budgets
Support resolution of day to day HR routine issues as required in line with legal requirements
Implement appropriate processes in relation to all employee records
Identify training, skills and competency needs for employees and coordinate career development, succession planning and talent management needs in partnership with line management.
Develop initiatives aimed at improving employee morale and organizational effectiveness.
The ideal applicants for this position should meet the following criteria:
A relevant completed tertiary qualification – preferred major in HR, Industrial or Clinical psychology or business related discipline, Post graduate qualification in HR is essential
4 -5 years’ experience in HR management, preferably within the Retail, Hospitality or FMCG industry or multi-outlet industry highly regarded.
Must be a registered member of IHRM with evidence of paid-up membership
Demonstrable experience and ability to deal with a senior team with a consulting mindset
Solid understanding of all HR facets and comfortable operating in a generalist role
Hands on and up to date knowledge of Kenyan Labour Law
An entrepreneurial mind-set, data driven approach, analytical and problem solving skills.
The ability to work autonomously, take the initiative and work independently; demonstrate self-motivation and energy, working well under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines.
A strong team ethic with excellent interpersonal skills, a motivational personality to drive high performance and maintain staff motivation levels that deliver the business objectives
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including Influencing and negotiating skills;
Demonstrable interpersonal sensitivity and ability to relate at all levels of the organization
