Responsibilities include:
Business Development
Coordinate the tracking and review process for long-leads (prospects) in the region
Generate leads reports to support the business development process
Identify and research potential clients and develop outreach strategy
Leverage network of clients, consultants and local architecture/landscape architecture firms to identify new leads
Participate in ongoing business development strategy discussions with firm leadership
Participate in weekly business development leads meetings
Update CRM database of project prospects and client contacts on an on-going basis
Project Coordination
All issues impacting deliverables, schedules, and budget should be maintained with thorough documentation
Assist with scope of work, fee and schedule development for project pursuits
Communicate with head office to align project schedule and deliverables
Identify and research specific project opportunities to inform go no/go decisions and pursuit decision-making
Maintain updated materials reflecting the latest information specific to the region
Manage contractor/vendor relationship through legal, procurement, risk for confidentiality of the projects
Manage multiple cross-functional projects at divergent phase by providing project leadership and daily management through end to end project life cycle for assigned projects
Manage proposal process and produce marketing materials in the pursuit of new work including RFP/RFQ responses, qualifications packages and presentations
Navigate and execute in an environment of ambiguity and lead teams to the successful delivery of milestones
Oversee all aspects of project information including timelines, resource allocation, scope and definition
Proactively communicates schedule and scope changes escalation of issues internally
Proactively seek problem resolutions
Track pursuit activity through CRM system
Uphold standards and best practice methods to mitigate ris
Experience
Experience in implementing market-based solutions
Existing networks within private sector and international organizations;
Excellent strategic leadership skills and experience of managing interventions to enhance competitiveness in the agribusiness sector
Strong leadership and people management experience demonstrating the ability to translate ideas into actions; monitor multiple work streams; and co-ordinate staff, contract partners and stakeholders
Proven experience of influencing decision makers and communicating to a variety of audiences
Strong track record of successfully leading and managing projects with multiple stakeholders and multi-layered teams
Deep understanding of the East African agricultural sectors
Skills
Ability to manage tasks efficiently and stick to strict deadlines
Creativity and the ability to generate innovative solutions to evolving situations during the delivery process
Excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English essential
Powerful analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex and conflicting information
Self-starter with plenty of energy, able to meet deadlines under pressure and balance conflicting and changing priorities
Qualifications
Demonstrable experience and understanding of agribusiness sales
Higher education qualification in Economics, Business or Agriculture
Solid back ground of experience in Project and Business Management
Minimum of five years’ relevant work experience
