WASH Officer – Marsabit County WASH Officer – Garissa County

REF: WOM/06/2017– Marsabit County
The incumbent of this position shall take charge of technical aspects of Emergency WASH on behalf of the program under the supervision of the WASH Engineer. His/her main roles and in consultation with the WASH Engineer and the county government technical teams shall include; designing, planning, implementing (technical oversights), monitoring and reporting on the Program’s WASH & Livestock water infrastructure activities.
The incumbent will participate in all coordination meetings between CARE’s Program and the County Government departmental leads/heads.
The WASH Officer’s overall responsibility shall broadly focus technical oversight and coordination to include;
Duties for the WASH Officer Job
Planning, Implementation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation,
Compiling technical reports narratives – to build up to the sitreps, quarterly, annual and final progress reports
Ensuring adherence to the approved work, budget and procurement plans
Supporting operations and field staff in delivering the program to targeted communities
Coordination and networking at county level with WASH emergency technical groups, Water, environment and sanitation coordination (Wescoord), CSG, NDMA, WARMA and other partner’s platforms or forums.
WASH Officer Job Qualifications
Diploma holder in the Civil and structural Engineering/Water Resource Engineering. Bachelor’s degree in same field is an added advantage
3 years progressive relevant working experience in rural community water projects.
Experience in design and supervision of piped water schemes, Infiltration Galleries, Shallow Wells, Earth Pans, Sand dams and boreholes development and rehabilitations.
Experience working in multi-cultural (particularly pastoralists in Northern Kenya), multi-disciplinary staff will be an advantage
