Head of Sales

You will be a perfect fit for the ‘Head of Sales’ role if:
You are no stranger to school automation softwares – possess a deep understanding of the lingo, systems and structures. You know what broadsheets, report cards, VAP, formative assessment reports, duty rosters, marksheets etc are. In addition, you understand how private and public school administration works: chain of command, decision makers in finances, academics, students welfare etc. You have worked with schools before and understand sales cycles, spending limitations and approvals.
You have a demonstrable record of selling automation software to schools – without breaking contractual agreements with current or former employers can you show by proof of sales records such as invoices, receipts, statement of accounts instances where you repeatedly clocked and surpassed your targets.
You have a deep understanding of the competitive landscape – who are the big players in this space? What are they good or poor at? How does one leverage their abilities or lack thereof to win over a client? A deep understanding of our competitors allows you to communicate our value proposition and service differentiation better to customers.
You possess remarkable display of ingenuity – most folks at this level suffer from the ‘throw money at any problem and it dissapears’ disease. They want grandiose spending on TV ads, Radio features, magazine stories, bill boards etc that would be inappropriate use of resources for a small self-funded team driven by ‘frugality’ and ‘pragmatic spending’. Can you demonstrate instances where your ingenuity espoused these two tenets?
You are an awfully good person with deep networks in education circles – you possess an uncanny ability to get along with industry figures, potential customers, and partners. And to nurture these relationships to form a never ending gravy train of leads.
You love to nurture talent and have no qualms if they outshine you – this old adage says it all ‘A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.’ As team leader you lead from the front, urging the troops on till the mission at hand is accomplished.
