This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of the complete order lifecycle, including evaluation of proposals, strategic price negotiation, and supplier selection. Additionally, the position requires trend analysis, order follow-up, delivery verification, payment approval, and maintenance of all relevant documentation.

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented professional to handle a variety of administrative and operational tasks, ensuring smooth day-to-day functions. The ideal candidate will manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and maintain accurate records, while also facilitating communication between departments and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include preparing reports, processing documentation, and overseeing routine office procedures to uphold efficiency and compliance with company policies. Additionally, the role requires proficiency in office software, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Oversee all procurement and logistical operations for approved engineering and maintenance parts and equipment as required.

Act as a liaison with engineering stores to ensure prompt and high-quality procurement of spares and consumables, maintaining optimal re-order levels and adherence to lead times for various stock items by evaluating part consumption rates, delivery terms, and clearance durations.

Coordinate spares equipment shipments for domestic and international orders, ensuring timely clearing and forwarding, and provide updates to the plant engineer as necessary.

Collaborate with engineering suppliers to address inquiries or resolve issues concerning deliveries, payments, shipping and procurement, and compliance with standards, providing guidance to the plant engineer as needed.

Ensure all local and international orders are delivered safely and appropriately, with follow-ups conducted as necessary.

Duly approved purchase requisitions, signed by the plant engineer, are received from the chief storekeeper, followed by the procurement of quotations or pro forma invoices.

Prepare petty cash (advance) vouchers in accordance with the plant engineer’s authorization to facilitate immediate cash purchases of essential items, while maintaining accurate reconciliation and tallying records as required.

Ensure timely follow-up with suppliers and contractors regarding checks and advance payments post-delivery or project completion, as well as in accordance with their specified terms, while fostering and maintaining strong professional relationships.

Ensure the engineering department’s procurement activities remain within the allocated budget and approved estimates, coordinating as necessary with your supervisor to maintain financial alignment.

Ensure the timely availability of necessary parts and equipment while actively working to minimize downtime by responding promptly whenever required.

Contribute actively to the attainment of organizational and engineering departmental objectives, ensuring your engagement aligns with established targets.

Join our engineering team to help fulfill the department’s mission of maximizing the availability, reliability, and efficiency of plant and equipment, buildings, and services/utilities.

Prepare and submit annual, quarterly, monthly, semi-annual, and weekly procurement plans to the plant engineer for review and approval.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, coupled with at least five years of professional experience in software development. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, alongside expertise in software design principles and system architecture. Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and agile methodologies is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams are required. Additionally, experience with database management, version control systems, and testing frameworks will be advantageous.

A bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.

A diploma in Purchasing & Supplies Management or a CAPS professional qualification will be considered an asset.

Experienced in sourcing materials and negotiating purchases within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Experts must demonstrate exceptional negotiation abilities, a keen commercial acumen, and unwavering ethical standards.

A minimum of five years of directly applicable professional experience is required.
