At Hyatt Place Nairobi Westlands & Hyatt House Nairobi Westlands, we are looking for Lifeguard who will be responsible for Responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers and other guests at the hotel swimming pool area. Also responsible for checking the safety of the area, enforcing safety rules, and keeping the area clean. Their job involves preventing drowning or other water-related accidents that could lead to serious injuries or fatalities. This role requires a combination of physical, mental, and interpersonal skills, as well as an understanding of water safety and lifesaving techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours.
Maintain and maintain the pool area ensuring a clean, secure and safe environment.
Employ accident prevention by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by the hotel policy.
Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the pool area.
Closely monitor any activities related to the pool area.
Identify any safety issues throughout the shift and report accordingly.
Guide swimmers out of the water as per prevailing conditions.
Provide swimming lessons and coaching when applicable.
Be responsible for signing out, securing, and returning pool area section keys for each day worked.
Conducting safety inspections and maintaining equipment to ensure that they are in good working condition.
Immediately reports and turns over lost and found items to Housekeeping Office in accordance with hotel procedures.
Participates in Emergency Procedure as per hotel’s Policy & Procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Possesses lifeguard training course certificate.
Holds a current certificate in Pool Rescue, First Aid and CPR from a certified institution.
At least 2 years’ experience working as a Lifeguard.
