MRI Technologist

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

Reporting to the Radiology Manager, the successful candidate will ensure provision of effective, efficient, and quality imaging services in MRI and other modalities as need arises (CT SCAN, Fluoroscopy, Xray and ultrasound) in the hospital.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive, process, undertake initial patient evaluation and provide diagnostic images.
Perform MRI examinations by capturing images of diagnostic value.
Ensure MRI safety protocols and measures are well undertaken for self, patient, staff, care givers, equipment and community safety.
Ensure radiation safety measures and protection are observed to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety for patients, staff, and self.
Ensure scheduled maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment are in place and followed.
Ensure accurate documentation and care of patients’ records.

The requirements

Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences, Diploma in Radiography or bachelor’s degree in Radiography.
Minimum of one (1) year working experience in a similar position.
Three (3) years of general practice in radiography and imaging in a hospital setup.
Registered and licensed by the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
Member of professional body preferably SORK with current and active status.
Post basic field training or exposure in MRI will be an added advantage.
 Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping skills.
 Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
