Job Summary
The Finance Officer (Accounting & Budgeting) is actively involved in analyzing the Group’s performance and creating various reports and presentations to support the Group’s management in decision making; assisting subsidiaries and Group departments identify focus areas to improve performance; involvement in preparing the corporate plan and annual budgets; timely preparation of accurate and reliable monthly management accounts; financial management reporting; preparation of various financial reports, analyses and dashboards, board papers, presentations as well as covenant reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze financial data and create financial models and scenarios to support decision making.
Report on financial performance and prepare regular management reviews for the Group.
Analyze past performance, carry out variance analysis; identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
Management and Board papers and PowerPoint Presentations.
Prepare accurate and timely quarterly covenant Reports.
Work closely with Accounting and Budgeting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
Evaluate Group financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans, forecasts and corporate plan.
Commentary on management accounts and PowerPoint Presentations to various internal committees.
Forecast full year Group performance based on current performance.
Analytical review and trend analysis.
Recommend actions after analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
Identify and recommend areas to drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards using the Corporate Financial Model.
Assist Accounting and Budgeting unit in preparing annual budgets and corporate plans and carrying out mid-year/term reviews.
Carry out profitability Analysis of Credit proposals for consideration at Corporate Credit Committee.
In-house training of Group staff on financial modelling, forecasting and advanced Excel.
Coordinate and ensure the Group’s Funds and Asset Management entity audits are carried out within planned period and assist in preparation of the financial statements.
Qualifications and Competencies
A Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from a recognized institution.
Relevant professional qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
A minimum of 5 – 8 years relevant professional experience in accounting and budgeting positions in a busy commercial Grouping or Development Financial Institution environment.
Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and modelling skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data query/data management tools (Access, SQL, Business Objects).
Robust quantitative orientation with financial modelling knowledge, computer literacy and hands-on skills in enterprise resource planning systems (particularly SAP).
Financial and accountancy knowledge and knowledge of IFRS.
Results oriented individual with excellent written and communication skills with proven ability to rapidly produce quality reports and ability to work in a multicultural setting.
Proven organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to build partnerships, work in multinational teams, deliver results and manage client relationships.
Fluency in English is a requirement, and Knowledge of TDB Group’s other working language (French) would be an added advantage.
