Field Coordinator, Population Health

Responsibilities

Plan and implement surveillance project activities including all the logistics, working with the sub-county health management team in Kaloleni & Rabai Sub-counties and communities and facilitation of surveillance and research activities in this area.
In liaison with DPH faculty, implement research in the KRHDSS area, the local department of health and community stakeholders and establish community units of the sub-county-wide surveillance system.
Continuously engage with the local health teams and other local stakeholders to ensure awareness and support for DPH’s KRHDSS and other research projects.
Lead the training of community health promoters on data collection
Plan and implement logistics for the research project
Support the data manager on implementation and enforcement of data quality control protocols during data collection in the field through spot checks, feedback to community health promoters and enumerators.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: Public Health, Social Sciences, Medical anthropology, Project Planning and Management, Community Health or Health Systems Management.
At least 3 years’ experience in similar or related work, preferably in the health sector
Demonstrated competency in planning and management of field activities
In-depth familiarity with government health systems particularly in community health strategy
Ability to write and maintain field project documentation
Demonstrated ability to coordinate large field teams
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of and experience in working in the Kilifi study area is an added advantage
