Job Summary:
Laboratory Technologist is responsible for conducting medical examinations according to the organizations quality management system and ensuring the implementation of safe practices within St Theresa Mission Hospital-Kiirua-LAB.
Qualifications
Diploma Medical Laboratory Sciences plus two years post experience in Medical Laboratory work
Registered by KMLTTB
Knowledgeable in Quality Management Systems
Computer Literacy (Microsoft packages)
Previous experience in quality assurance will be an added advantage
Job Description
To perform lab tests and other specialized tests in the any department
To implement laboratory quality management systems.
To observe good laboratory practice at all times when executing laboratory duties.
To provide necessary technical assistance and guidance to junior laboratory staff.
Assist in the training of laboratory students on lab tests.
Participate in EQA schemes and review the results thereof.
To prepare, distribute analyze and provide feedback on EQA panels.
To apply medical lab knowledge and skills in disease surveillance and quality assurance
Identification and addressing of complaints, non-conformances and corrective actions
Comply with established quality management system and safety procedures.
To participate in operational research for both clinical and public health services.
To prepare and submit, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports.
To maintain statistics of laboratory tests and keep records and documents thereof.
Recognize and respond to emergencies
To perform any other duties as assigned by the lab manager.
