Writer & Editor – Regional

About the Opportunity
This Writer and Editor will play a critical role in the growth of Inkomoko’s Communications Department dedicated to impactful storytelling and effective communication.  The Writer and Editor will be an active contributor, a creative thinker, action- and solutions-oriented, work closely with other members of Inkomoko’s management team, and manage our content creation and editorial efforts. This position reports directly to the Director of Communications.
Responsibilities

Create and oversee written copy for various platforms and assets, including collateral, website content, email newsletters, client stories, and impact reports.
Maintain consistent messaging and style across all written assets to ensure a cohesive brand voice.
Develop and enforce a comprehensive copy style guide to uphold quality and consistency in all written communications.
Support the development of messages to effectively communicate our mission and impact.
Curate and maintain a story bank of client stories and testimonials to highlight our successes and impact.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of proven experience in creating and editing written content, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong understanding of content creation for various platforms and audiences.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience working in East Africa or similar regions.
Background in content marketing, journalism, or communications.
Proficiency in local languages and cultural understanding of the East African region.
