IT Hardware Technician

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled IT Hardware Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and peripheral devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for providing top-notch technical support.
Key Responsibilities:

Hardware Installation and Configuration:

Install and configure computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheral devices.
Set up and configure network equipment such as routers, switches, and access points.
Ensure all hardware is installed and configured according to company standards and specifications.

Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

Diagnose and repair hardware issues, including replacing faulty components and performing upgrades.
Conduct regular maintenance checks and updates to ensure optimal hardware performance.
Maintain an inventory of hardware components and ensure adequate stock levels for repairs.

Technical Support:

Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware-related issues promptly and efficiently.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity issues.
Offer guidance and support for software installation and updates as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of hardware installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Document hardware configurations and update records following changes or repairs.
Prepare reports on hardware performance, issues, and resolutions.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software systems.
Communicate effectively with end-users to understand and address their technical needs.
Provide training and support to users on hardware usage and best practices.

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in hardware installation, maintenance, and repair.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, including motherboards, processors, memory, and storage devices.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting hardware issues.
Familiarity with network equipment and configurations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Experience with server hardware and data center equipment.
Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
