The Position

Reporting to the Senior ICT Officer, the ICT Intern will acquire practical, hands-on exposure to Information Technology within a fast-paced NGO setting. This internship offers comprehensive insight into essential ICT functions, such as user support, systems administration, network monitoring, data and systems management, and security operations. The intern will collaborate closely with the ICT team to support daily functions, participate in active projects, and advance the organization’s objectives by maintaining seamless, secure, and dependable ICT services.

Oversee and manage a diverse range of critical duties and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational excellence. Execute tasks with precision, adhering to established protocols while fostering innovation and efficiency. Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and drive measurable results. Maintain accountability for performance metrics, reporting accuracy, and adherence to deadlines, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives to support long-term organizational growth.

Deliver technical support to employees regarding common software and hardware-related challenges.

Provide support for the setup, configuration, and ongoing upkeep of both hardware and software systems.

Provide assistance in diagnosing and resolving network issues while ensuring ongoing upkeep and functionality of network systems.

Conduct follow-up actions on repairs and maintenance activities related to ICT equipment to ensure timely resolution and optimal performance.

Offer technical assistance for information and communication technology systems during meetings, events, and field operations.

Support Information and Communications Technology (ICT) security operations by actively monitoring potential threats, rigorously enforcing established security policies, aiding in compliance audits, and guaranteeing adherence to organizational standards.

Document and escalate any unresolved issues to senior members of the ICT team for further review and resolution.

Execute any additional tasks delegated by the ICT supervisor as required.

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is essential, along with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting. Proficiency in advanced Excel and financial modeling is required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Familiarity with ERP systems and prior experience in the manufacturing sector are advantageous.

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field is currently being pursued or has recently been completed.

Proficient in both Unix and Windows-based applications, with a solid understanding of fundamental networking concepts.

Seeking candidates with a strong background in networking fundamentals, personal computer maintenance, Microsoft Windows Server administration, Microsoft Active Directory management, desktop operating systems, as well as expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and voice technologies.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities are essential for this role.

Demonstrates a proactive approach to acquiring and applying emerging technological skills and methodologies. Exhibits flexibility and enthusiasm in embracing evolving tools and advancements within the field.
