Job Summary:
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the nursing department at Veteran Mission Hospital. As a key member of the senior management team, the CNO will oversee all nursing operations, ensure high standards of patient care, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership to the nursing department, aligning nursing goals with the hospital’s overall mission and objectives.
Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance patient care outcomes and operational efficiency.
Lead and mentor a diverse team of nursing professionals, promoting professional growth and development.
Collaborate with other departments to optimize interdisciplinary patient care and service delivery.
Monitor and evaluate nursing performance metrics, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for nursing services.
Foster a culture of patient-centered care, safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Management preferred.
Registered Nurse with valid nursing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
Advanced diplomas or certifications in nursing management or specialty areas are advantageous.
Proven track record of driving nursing excellence, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
