General Manager – Law firm IT and Digital Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic planning and Operational Management:

Evaluate and Improve Processes: Continuously assess and enhance operational policies and procedures to optimize case management and administrative workflows.
Contribute to the development of the firm’s strategic plan and implementation of the Plan to achieve overall Firm’s goals.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Monitor Compliance: Ensure the firm adheres to relevant laws, regulations and internal policies. Abide by the policies and procedures of the firm and adhere to the firm’s compliance system and understand organizational policies and procedures necessary to ensure appropriate decision-making protocols are followed.
Risk Management: Develop and oversee a comprehensive risk management strategy to mitigate potential risks.

Cross-Functional Team Leadership:

Collaborate Across Departments: Foster effective collaboration between various departments.
Drive strategic initiatives: Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives and regularly track and report on the progress making adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.

Technology Leadership:

Integrate new technologies: spearhead integration of new operational and legal technologies to improve service delivery.
Maintain IT Infrastructure: Oversee the maintenance and upgrading of the firm’s IT infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Financial Management:

Budget Preparation and Financial Planning: Developing and preparing the firm’s budget and financial plans.
Expense Monitoring: Track and monitor expenses to ensure they align with the approved budget.
Oversee the processes for billing, invoicing, and collections to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Human Resources Collaboration:

Support HR Functions: Work closely with the HR department to develop HR policies and oversee talent acquisition, training programs, and performance management systems that meet firm’s objectives.

Facilities Management:

Manage Physical Infrastructure: Oversee the firm’s physical infrastructure, including space planning, maintenance and ensure the security of firms’ premises.
Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of resources to support strategic initiatives and operational needs.

Vendor and Third-Party Relations:

Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and external service providers.
Quality and Cost Control: Ensure quality control and cost-efficiency in all services provided by vendors.

Support Services Oversight:

Coordinate Support Services: Ensure all departments have the necessary resources and support for optimal performance.
Administrative Oversight: Supervise administrative teams to guarantee high-quality client and employee support services.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, law, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in professional services environment, or in a law firm is an (added advantage).
Demonstrated ability in process improvement and project management.
Familiarity with legal software and case management systems is advantageous.
Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
Problem-solving mindset with strategic thinking capabilities
