Our Client, an insurance brokerage organization seeks to recruit a General Manager (GM), who will be responsible for overseeing the General Insurance Department including formulating and implementation of strategies for business growth.
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the General Insurance department
Supervision and coordination of the underwriting, retention, claims and business development teams with the aim of enhancing efficiency, client retention & growth.
Directly engage in business development efforts to achieve set targets
Provide expertise and guidance in technical insurance matters.
Develop and enhance risk notes according to the client’s needs.
Assist with the development and implementation of departmental performance management metrics.
Formulate strategic plans to ensure brand positioning and overall business growth.
Key Requirements
At least 10 years of experience of insurance of which at least 5 years should be in a mid-management to senior management position.
Undergraduate or Postgraduate
Professional Qualifications (CII, AIIK, ANZIIF, etc.) will be an added advantage
Experience with networking and proven business development ability
Ability to work in teams within a multi-disciplinary and multinational environment
Strong analytical abilities
Knowledge of business processes and functions
Excellent communication, organizational skills and leadership skills
Problem-solving aptitude
