A Bachelor’s degree in international development, accounting or a relevant field.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in finance and compliance of donor-funded programs, preferably with substantial and diverse subgrant components.
Experience with USAID or other United States Government-funded programming is preferred.
Strong command of 2 CFR 200 and 700, ADS 303, and other relevant USG rules and regulations and systems is desirable.
Accounting skills and certifications preferred.
Familiarity with cross-sectoral positive youth development programming and learning, including youth employment, education, health, and/or psychosocial support, is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability in building capacity and providing training and technical assistance to grantees.
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills with the ability to interact and cooperate effectively and empathetically with a large and multicultural team and partners.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative, identifying priorities, solving problems, and making decisions to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English and Kiswahili.
Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Kenya.
Your Daily Tasks
Serve as a point of contact on grant management and compliance for regional and global portfolio.
Establish and maintain equitable, transparent, and collaborative partnerships with diverse youth organizations.
Lead partner selection and development processes. Manage roles and responsibilities and timeframes. Coordinate processes with Youth Excel team members, including engagement of technical leads and senior managers for decision-making and approvals, and partners in order to ensure technically and financially aligned grants designed to support accomplishment of program objectives.
Develop and review subgrants and modifications, including workplans, budgets, and agreements. Draft donor approval requests.
Conduct risk assessments and design risk mitigation plans. Provide management/performance feedback and propose corrective actions as needed.
Contribute to the development of subgrant templates, procedures, and training materials for subgrant management, compliance, and organizational capacity development.
Liaise with partners through regular check-ins and site visits to provide oversight and support.
Monitor timely completion and quality of work plan activities, deliverables, and MEL reporting in collaboration with the technical manager. Contribute to program reporting and knowledge management.
Support overall Youth Excel budget monitoring of grant expenditures and projections.
Monitor budget expenditures and projections through financial reporting review and tracking.
Ensure prompt disbursement and reconciliation of subgrant payments.
Oversee management of grant files to ensure audit readiness.
Ensure compliance with IREX and USAID policies and regulations, and proactively identify gaps and recommend solutions.
Provide training and technical assistance for grant management and compliance capacity strengthening to partners.
Coach Youth Excel global team members on subgrant management and compliance. Review subgrant documents and provide feedback to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance from the finance perspective.
May supervise and mentor grants assistants and coordinators.
