Credit Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Credit Analyst and Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of potential clients, managing credit applications, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our credit department.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses by analyzing financial data, credit reports, and other relevant information.
Review credit applications and determine appropriate credit limits and terms based on risk assessment.
Monitor existing credit accounts to ensure compliance with payment terms and identify any potential risks.
Prepare and present credit analysis reports to management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Maintain accurate records of credit decisions, correspondence, and customer interactions.
Collaborate with sales and finance teams to resolve credit-related issues and optimize credit policies and procedures.
Provide administrative support to the credit department, including data entry, file and record maintenance, document preparation, execution and safe custody.
Assist in the development and implementation of credit risk management strategies.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit analysis and administration

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in credit analysis, preferably in a financial institution or credit department/previous experience in MFI is an added advantage.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and credit reports.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and decision-making.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with credit analysis software is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to credit operations.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
