We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in Kenya and based at the National Treasury and Economic Planning of Kenya. The intern will support the team on strategic partner relations management and partners outreach (current and potential) and shall report to the GGGI Africa Regional Director. The intern will primarily contribute to supporting strategic partner research, intelligence gathering of funding trends, in-depth research on target donors, /partners in Kenya, and the preparation of materials supporting advocacy and resource mobilization activities.
The assignment will include the followings but not limited to:
Support the Senior Regional Business Development Officer in maintaining productive relationships with key government stakeholders and developing networks for effective project implementation.
Monitor trends, identify opportunities and risks regarding country-level resource mobilization, and inform the Regional Office in a timely manner, suggesting where appropriate actions to position GGGI.
Support the preparation of tailored advocacy, outreach, and pitch materials targeting both current and potential donors.
Support the preparation of business cases and programme proposals.
Support the set up of the Kenya Country Office.
More responsibilities within business development as deemed fit.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:
Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program before internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.
Possess an excellent command of English.
QUALIFICATION
Good understanding of resource mobilization, business development or interest and willing to learn
Ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines, and to perform various tasks simultaneously
Strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to deliver results on time.
Excellent spoken and written English and Swahili.
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A master’s degree in economics. Finance, Business, Environmental Sciences, or relevant areas.
International exposure and interest in East Africa.
