Key Responsibilities:
Garment Construction and Alteration:
Measure clients to ensure proper fit of garments.
Cut and sew fabric according to patterns or designs, ensuring precision and accuracy.
Alter and repair garments as per customer requests, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and adjusting fit.
Customer Service:
Consult with customers to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on fabric selection, style, and fit.
Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to garments.
Maintain strong communication with customers to ensure satisfaction with the finished product.
Fabric and Material Handling:
Select appropriate materials and tools for each project.
Handle various fabrics, including delicate and specialty materials, with care and expertise.
Keep up-to-date with new fabrics, materials, and sewing techniques.
Equipment Maintenance:
Operate and maintain sewing machines, sergers, and other tailoring equipment.
Perform regular maintenance on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
Inventory Management:
Manage inventory of fabrics, threads, and other materials.
Order new supplies as needed to maintain an adequate stock for ongoing projects.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal training in tailoring or fashion design is preferred.
Prior atleast 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
