Overall Purpose/Broad Function:
LWF project drivers, support the project in transporting project materials, facilitate staff movement and observing traffic rules.
Ensures vehicles are well equipped with tools and spare tyres.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily ferrying of staff to various destination in the refugee camps
Daily maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle, by keeping it clean at all time, handling the vehicle assigned with care and reporting for the need of service when it falls due.
Reporting on the condition of the vehicle to the Transport Supervisor and logistics officer.
Daily recording of the vehicle movement by filling in the vehicle work ticket (log book) and mileage
Transporting of LWF goods and or materials as authorized by your supervisor
Observing traffic rules at all-time both within the camp and outside the camps.
Writing of the report on usage of vehicle in terms of fuel consumed, lubricants and trips made.
Maintaining proper care to all staff being ferried and or any goods or equipment being transported.
Communication of the radio & monitoring of security situation of the area.
Making sure the vehicle is well equipped with tools & spare tyres.
The driver has to adhere the instructions of his/her supervisor Sourcing quotations from our pre- qualified suppliers and analyzing them.
Ensuring right descriptions of items and sample are provided where necessary
Processing documents for several signatures as required by the policy.
Providing Clerical services
Providing systematic and organized filling system for all reports both in soft copy and hard copy.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ensuring vehicles waiver are signed by Non-staff and filled.
Support and confirm delivery of items received at the stores when required
Education/Professional Designations/Experience:
Certificate of KCSE
Completion of form four
Valid driving license – Category D (D1, D2 or D3)
2 years Minimal Practical Experience.
Computer literate
