Intern, FSD Africa Investment

Overall, Purpose:

Under the guidance of the Head, Investments, the Intern will support the investment team in various investment-related tasks including research, analysis, responding to internal requests, communications, updating the investor database and liaising with other pillars as requested.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the deal teams in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and monitoring investments, including performing due diligence on investments.
Participate in team meetings to support ongoing investment activities.
Work with the strategic communications team towards building FSDAi’s brand.
Conducting investment research related to FSDAi’s portfolio, emerging investment areas, and additional topics.
Staying informed about investment trends.
Maintain and update the investments databases to track and monitor prospective and existing investments.
Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:
As a student you will need to meet the following criteria

Enrolled/recent graduate with a Bachelors in Degree in Business, Economics or related field

Or

Enrolled in a second university degree or higher at the time of application and during the internship
Enrolled in a four-year degree course in a collegiate or undergraduate level of a university at the time of application and during the internship; and
Have completed at least 3 years of full- time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of an undergraduate programme
For recent graduate, must have graduated not longer than 1 year ago.

Skills and Competencies

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Exposure to and understanding of basic investment concepts.
Strong academic record (University).
Keen on details with good analytical skills.
