Programs Manager

Objective: The Programs Manager will be responsible for the effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all projects and activities undertaken by Stretchers Youth Organization. The incumbent will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff members to ensure that programs align with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop annual program work plans in consultation with relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
Oversee the day-to-day implementation of projects, including budget management, procurement, and resource allocation.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
Foster partnerships and collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders to maximize project impact and sustainability.
Lead the monitoring and evaluation of program activities, collecting data and producing timely reports to assess progress and outcomes.
Identify and address challenges and risks that may affect project delivery, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and ethical standards in all program activities.
Support fundraising efforts by contributing to proposal development, donor reporting, and donor relationship management.
Lead efforts to mainstream gender equality, human rights, and democracy principles across all program interventions.j. Supervise and mentor program staff, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, social science, community development).
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, preferably in the NGO sector.
Demonstrated expertise in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Strong understanding of health and well-being, gender main streaming,human rights, and democracy issues.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in budget management, proposal writing, and donor reporting.
Familiarity with donor regulations and compliance requirements.
Fluency in English and Swahili, both written and spoken.
Commitment to the organization’s values and principles.

Duration and Location:

This is a full-time position based in Mombasa, Kenya.
The initial contract will be for a period of one year, renewable based on performance and funding availability.
