GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This positions’ key responsibilities are:
Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for impact and corporate affairs initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including grant donors and related partners, government agencies and community organizations, to support program objectives and enhance the organization’s social and business impact and reputation.
Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including budgetary management, staff supervision and coordinate grant-seeking activities to maximize impact against targets and achieve organizational growth targets.
Maintain timeliness, accuracy and adequacy of corporate communications and impact related reports for various stakeholders. Provide recommendations, input into strategic planning.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Impact & Corporate Affairs Manager is responsible and accountable for the following core job elements:
Understand, own and execute the Company’s corporate strategy within Kenya. Ensure corporate communications consistency and alignment with business objectives.
Develop content and campaigns aligned with corporate strategy, tailored to target audiences and media channels.
Craft and execute corporate sponsorship strategy to enhance consideration and loyalty. Lead corporate communications campaigns to drive loyalty and achieve impact targets.
Develop and implement strategies to secure grants, funding, and technical assistance to support the organization’s impact initiatives and sustain its operations.
Oversee corporate digital and social media strategy, analyzing data to optimize performance. Manage creation of corporate materials and graphic design projects. Ensure corporate voice and aesthetic consistency.
Develop strong relationships with both internal and external suppliers to support the delivery of corporate objectives.
Act as joint custodian of customer experience with business units, owning customer engagement events and plans. Support cross-division income opportunities and efficiency synergies.
Define KPIs, data, and reporting requirements, provide up-to-date and accurate reports with insights recommendations on social impact and other relevant metrics to stakeholders.
Maintain and update grants planner, monitor grants / contracts, and manage grant proposals. Ensure adherence to strict deadlines and follow up on necessary milestones and KPIs.
EDUCATIONAL AND COLLATERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, Communications, Social Sciences, or related field from a recognized University. A postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Development Studies or Communication is an added advantage.
Seven or more years of experience in impact assessment, CSR, public relations, or related roles, preferably in the microfinance or financial services sector.
Experience with SDG, ESG, socially Responsible Investing, methodologies such as systems mapping and metrics such as net promoter score methodologies preferred.
Ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships, craft long-term corporate communications strategies aligned with business goals, and effectively oversee corporate communications and reputation management.
Sound technical understanding of the financial services regulatory and operating environment. Hands on experience in digital marketing is an added advantage.
Excellent interpersonal, coaching, negotiation, presentation, project management and Microsoft Windows skills.
Self-starter, team player, mature individual with outstanding strategic, analytical, numerate, creative skills, communication and presentation talents.
