They seek to hire a Workshop Manager who will lead the workshop team and oversee the entire production process. This role is crucial for receiving dried, graded timber ready for conversion, ensuring that all products meet our high standards and workshop goals.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Quality Assessment: Receive dried, graded timber from QA warehousing and logistics, assessing quality for conversion.
Production Management: Convert grade A timber into final products by enforcing strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Project Oversight: Manage workshop production projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
Team Leadership: Lead a team of technicians to meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
Safety Enforcement: Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring all rules and regulations are followed.
Support Coordination: Support and supply other furniture makers within the organization.
Operational Continuity: Ensure seamless continuity in workshop operations.
Regulatory Compliance: Enforce compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Leadership: Lead branch supervisors and Quality Assurance (QA) teams, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
Market Collaboration: Work with the Business Development (BD) team to supply the market with profiles and other wood products, ensuring market needs are met.
Resource Management: Collaborate with the Resource Strategist and Business Development Manager (BDM) to source and understand the timber market.
Talent Management: Partner with HR to find, manage, develop, and retain talent within the workshop team.
Performance Management: Set and manage team performance targets, providing guidance and support to achieve goals.
Required Specifications;
Educational Background: Degree in Wood Technology, Production or Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
Industry Experience: A background in wood and furniture production is an advantage.
Market Knowledge: Understanding of the timber products market needs.
Passion for the Field: Passionate about timber and furniture.
SOP Adherence: Enforces following of SOPs and instructions.
Leadership Qualities: A mature, responsible, and reliable leader with strong leadership skills.
Health and Safety Knowledge: Good understanding of health and safety regulations.

Teamwork: Strong team player who is able to collaborate effectively.
Analytical Skills: Able to problem-solve and understand costing and pricing dynamics.
