Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (Lewa), based in Isiolo Kenya, is an organization that works as a catalyst and a model for the conservation of wildlife and its habitat. We are looking for a high calibre, self-driven, trustworthy, and dedicated Stores Manager with a commitment to excellence that will enhance our operations Department. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Operations, the store’s manager is responsible for driving customer service excellence by ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining optimal inventory levels, securing stores merchandise, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and managing a team of storekeepers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure store merchandise is secure by implementing security measures.
Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure optimal inventory levels.
Monitoring all stock movement to determine required minimum and maximum stock.
Ensure timely reporting (Transactions report, slow moving items report, daily, weekly, monthly, and annual summary etc.)
Collaborate with other departments to understand their needs and ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
Ensuring receiving of all inventories as per the purchase orders with all relevant documentation, quality, and timeliness.
Monitoring/reviewing issuance of items as per correct documentation.
Planning and execution of regular and quarterly stock takes, reconciliation and reporting of the same to ascertain stock accuracy.
Continuously and proactively establish Store practices and protocols to achieve an efficient stores management set up.
Drive customer service excellence to every aspect of the stores, including appearance, display of inventory, product placement, story layout, and issuing procedures.
In charge of closure of any nonconformities raised to stores by internal and external Auditors.
Monitor staffing levels, Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.
Review, implement, and update company records pertaining stores department e.g., Policies & SOPS, training plans, performance reviews, risk assessments.
In collaboration with other operations section heads, manage vehicle and machinery inventory by ensuring updates each time a vehicle or machine is purchased or disposed.
Support and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.
Oversee efficient use of Sage ERP and ensure / coordinate all technical support with finance and service providers.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Job Specifications
The job holder must possess:
Higher Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Supply chain Management or any other Business-related course from a recognized institution
At least 5 years work experience in a busy warehousing and supply chain setup.
Knowledge of the SAGE system will be an added advantage.
Able to work under pressure.
Elevated level of integrity.
Good leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication, verbal, and presentation skills.
Good organizational and follow-up skills
