DESCRIPTION
Overall purpose
The role holder will be responsible for:
Co-creation of integrated (ATL & digital) media strategy and plans on initiatives that deliver to FoodFiti brand objectives for the Vegetables for All project.
Management and supervision of day-to-day media agency outputs (including digital content creation) to ensure implementation is strategically and creatively on target, delivered on time and on budget.
Tasks and responsibilities
Manage media Agency to launch the FoodFiti brand in Kenya in 2024 and supports the brand through Year 4 – Year 5 (first quarter) with vegetable production seasons in all intervention counties.
Launches the brand in Nairobi Central and Lower Eastern (Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Nakuru and Mombasa).
Balance the need to increase brand awareness and drive consideration messages simultaneously (via different creatives running during the same campaign period).
Undertake management of media planning for the entire campaign period; engage in media buying and ensure a high return on investment for the FoodFiti campaign i.e.negotiating on behalf of the organization with suppliers and the media agencies.
Oversee monitoring strategy and analysis in order to suggest improvements that will optimize the campaign.
Oversee integrated media buying across channels, reporting, optimization, and analysis is done in line with pre-approved strategy.
Responsible for keeping up with the dynamic trends and benchmarks in the media industry through continuous research and training and provide quarterly presentation on media and industry trends.
Post-campaign analysis reporting including conducting of compliance & proof of flight reports (daily, weekly, monthly, post campaign) Monthly performance reports – media effectiveness vs campaign objectives – Budget management report – What worked, what didn’t – Review of target audience response to campaign – Learnings/implications for full launch.
Offer insights and reports on audience reach.
Recommend optimizations on media spend and suggest any strategic and tactical changes on the various media channels based on various criteria (cost effectiveness vs reach)
Give input into the creative development process as the channel custodian on what works aligned to the media strategy.
Key Organizational Relationships
Reports to the Marketing Advisor, Kenya
Managing Media, Advertising and monitoring Agencies, or partners
Close collaboration with the Project Manager, Regional Project Coordinators and Communications Manager Vegetables for All project
Close collaboration with technical staff in the global and local Consumer Demand Generation team
Liaises closely with Country Programme, Organization’s Policy and External Relations
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
Highly developed numeric skills required for this role.
Excellent communication (written and oral) skills including ability to express complex media jargon in simple terms, translate technical documents for more general audiences.
Strong negotiation skills.
Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, strong team oriented and flexible.

Experience
MUST HAVE Proven experience in integrated Media managing budgets upwards of Ksh. 50M
MUST BE HIGHLY COMPETENT in analyzing and interpreting technical reports (media coverage reports, consumer insight reports) & monitoring data to develop or revise activities and prepare recommendations.
Proficiency in overseeing media strategy, media plans and channel selection depending on the objective of the campaign to ensure a high return on investment for the Foodfiti campaign.
Should be able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, notably working with diverse and collaborative teams.
High level of professionalism and integrity
Should have Project Management and Time management skills and should be able to allocate daily tasks efficiently.
Strong influencer with high level stakeholder management and engagement to seek approvals for integrated media strategy and plans.
Budget management including assistance in allocation of monthly budgets, and financial reconciliation on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Education
Must have relevant technical / professional qualifications – A bachelor’s degree in marketing or related degree.
Marketing professional certification – will be an added advantage.
