Commercial Associate

ROLE SUMMARY

The Associate – Commercial is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and execution of product categories within the company.

ROLE POFILE

Researching current trends and company’s selling philosophies to procure the best merchandise for the lowest cost.
Assisting with the development of selling strategies, product marketing and sales support.
Research and analyze data and market insights.
Search for insights into consumer needs and wants.
Plan and implement long-term development strategies for product categories.
Design exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors.
Place appropriate orders.
Ensure product availability.
Strategize positioning of a product category in order to maximize its visibility.
Collaborate with the marketing team.
Research competitors and suggest appropriate pricing and promotional activities.
Work with customers and merchandisers and find new ways of expanding product categories.
Calculate forecasts for product demand trends.
Manage and track budget.
Manage relationships with vendors locally and internationally as required.
Work closely with the relevant teams to provide accurate stock availability records.
Assist content teams to ensure products have required content as directed by Sales Development Team.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business Administration or related field.
2+ years’ experience across product innovation and category management in Retail Industry.
