As a Quality Assurance and Production-Fish value chain, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities and processes related to the fish value chain from the lake all the way to the plate. This includes ensuring that all fish products meet the required quality, safety
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring compliance with regulations and standards: The quality assurance manager must stay updated on food safety regulations and industry standards to ensure that the company’s processes and products meet all legal requirements.
HACCP Compliance- review and maintain accurate records for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
Conducting quality audits: Regularly auditing the production facilities, processes, and products to identify any non-conformities and areas for improvement.
Training staff: Providing training to production and quality control staff on quality assurance procedures, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Investigating quality issues: Addressing and resolving any quality-related issues that arise during the production process, including customer complaints and non-compliance with quality standards. Order quality verification
Implementing corrective and preventive actions: Developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address any quality deficiencies and prevent them from reoccurring in the future
Managing quality control documentation: Maintaining accurate records of quality control tests, procedures, and results to ensure traceability and compliance with audit requirements.
Developing policies, Policy review and updates, Certificates of compliance tracking for renewals
Product Development – Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new products and improve existing ones. Lead research to support product development and improvement initiatives.
Cold room management – Ensuring the cold rooms are well maintained and meet the required hygiene standards. Possess knowledge of required cold room temperatures for various meat products.
Employee management and production oversight -Plan and coordinate production operations to ensure targets are met.
Incident/Accident Management -Act as the health and safety chairperson, hence overseeing the implementation of the health and safety policy and procedures.
Daily, Weekly and Monthly QA Reporting
QUALIFICATIONS, KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Meat technology, Animal science, Food science and biochemistry.
Certification in HACCP, ISO certification, FSMS or any other relevant quality certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience as a quality assurance.
Experience working in an FMCG industry.
Demonstrated experience in general oversight of the quality management and the production process especially in the meat industry.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to lead a team.
