Principal Investigator

The Role:

As the Principal Investigator for the Elephant Collective Behaviour Project, you will spearhead research initiatives using cutting-edge video analysis tools to study elephant group dynamics. This position involves working closely with our Long-Term Monitoring Team, skilled Drone Pilots, and a network of global researchers to deliver impactful scientific insights.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement detailed work programs for the project.
Manage field data collection, storage, and analysis in collaboration with our scientific and field teams.
Provide regular updates and communicate findings through high-impact, peer-reviewed publications.
Lead a diverse team, fostering an environment of creativity and rigorous scientific inquiry.

Who You Are:

You hold a PhD or Master’s degree in Behavioural Science or a related field.
You have experience with video-based research and/or machine learning.
Your academic career includes a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
You are adept at managing complex projects and can thrive under challenging field conditions.
