Summary:
The Operations and Product Associate plays a pivotal role in JHUB Africa’s success. This strategic position ensures the smooth operation of our digital innovation hub while driving the development and continuous improvement of innovative products and services.
You’ll bridge the gap between our teams, streamline processes, and champion a user-centric approach to product development that meets the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of JHUB Africa, ensuring a seamless and productive work environment.
Develop and implement efficient operational processes and workflows, fostering collaboration and resource optimization.
Manage facility logistics, including equipment, space allocation, and vendor relationships.
Liaise with relevant JKUAT departments and partners to ensure JHUB Africa’s smooth integration within the university ecosystem.
Product Development
Lead the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, including market research, prototyping, testing, and iteration.
Collaborate with technical teams (software developers, engineers) to translate product concepts into tangible solutions.
Define product roadmaps, prioritizing features and release schedules.
Conduct user research, gather feedback and analyze data to inform product improvements.
Project Management
Oversee multiple innovation projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are managed efficiently.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
Track progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment within the operations and product development team.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, motivating them towards excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations management, product development, or a similar role within a technologydriven environment.
Proven experience managing complex projects within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Strong understanding of product development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)
Proficient in project management tools and software.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Desired Skills & Attributes
