Reporting to the Sudan Project Manager, the Project Coordinator, Sudan supports all administrative, logistical, and reporting functions for the Sudan US funded project. The Project Coordinator is responsible for carrying out day-to-day oversight duties, including ongoing communication and coordination with project beneficiaries, supporting high-quality and on time delivery of project activities, supporting all contracting and recruiting for the project, and ensuring continuous coordination with other Internews departments such as M&E, Finance, GTH. The Project Coordinator is also expected to escalate issues as needed. The project coordinator will work closely with Sudan technical advisor who will guide the implementation of activities and provide contextual knowledge. The Project Coordinator will also work in close coordination with Internews teams based in Washington DC and Arcata, CA, and Internews’ regional staff. These teams provide high-level technical advice, ensure compliance with Internews and donor policies and regulations, and offer back-stopping support. The Project Coordinator is a complex administrative support position requiring 4 years’ prior experience and specific technical education and familiarity with US funded projects.
DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:
Support the project workplan implementation under the supervision of the Project Manager.
Lead implementation of project activities under the guidance of the Project Manager and Sudan Technical Advisor.
Maintain all the projects’ records and documentation.
Support with logistics and planning of online and/or in-person events.
Coordinate with project beneficiaries as needed.
Act as the portfolio’s focal point for subgrant coordination with both partners and the MENA Regional Subgrants Officer.
Conduct regular monitoring of project activities in coordination with Sudan MERL Officer and MENA Regional M&E Officer.
Support internal and external donor reporting, including quarterly, annual, and final reports.
Carryout administrative tasks related to the project and ensure project is in compliance with all administrative requirements, including Internews and donor regulations.
Lead on all PSCs, OSCs, procurements and other contractual requests.
Review and process all consultant invoices and deliverables.
Develop and maintain tracker for all consultant contracts and payments.
Liaise with different departments to calculate and disburse stipends to event participants.
Provide Arabic-English (and vice versa) translation, as requested.
Work closely with the Sudan Technical Advisor.
Administer job functions with limited oversight, escalating issues to the Project Manager, Program Manager or Sudan Country Director and HQ staff for their input as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Required
Minimum three years’ prior relevant work experience.
B.A. in journalism, communications, political science, or another relevant subject
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of project administration.
Proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
Ability to read and comprehend process documentation, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present information, verbally and in writing, to other employees of the organization.
Technical proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Microsoft Teams.
Proven organizational skills, with good attention to detail.
Proven ability to operate in a multicultural and remote work environment.
Proven ability to work independently and complete tasks on time.
Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred
Prior experience working for an international nonprofit or in the international development sector strongly preferred.
Previous experience with MS Office programs.
Previous experience and/or knowledge of Sudan context.
Previous experience in working with journalist
