Oversight and Implementation

Develop and lead the implementation of digital delivery strategies, focusing on the integration of technical and design teams across different geographic locations. Utilize advanced communication and collaboration tools to bridge gaps and ensure smooth project progression.
Coordinate and collaborate with project teams and clients to ensure seamless integration of BIM processes. This includes the development of a standardized BIM protocol for all stakeholders to follow, facilitating a uniform approach to project execution.
Create Federated Models to facilitate improved decision-making through clash detection and resolution. Use these models as a central source of truth, enabling project teams to work from the same data and assumptions, thus minimizing errors and discrepancies.
Develop and implement BIM setup and workflows for enhanced project management and coordination. This involves customizing BIM software environments to fit project-specific needs and creating standardized templates and libraries for use across projects.
Manage the BIM team, providing guidance and support to ensure project success and efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning, encouraging team members to explore new BIM tools and technologies.
Develop animation and movies for project visualization and stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication of project concepts and progress. Use these visual tools to facilitate easier understanding among non-technical stakeholders and to support marketing efforts.
Design and implement tools and templates using C#.NET and Dynamo to meet project-specific needs and enhance productivity. Encourage innovation within the team by supporting the development of custom solutions that streamline workflow and improve project outcomes.
Ensure comprehensive knowledge and application of BIM processes, standards, and best practices across all projects. Stay updated of industry developments and integrate new standards and practices to maintain the organization’s leading edge in BIM implementation.
Integrate cloud-based BIM solutions to support remote access and collaboration, enabling team members to work efficiently regardless of their location. Utilize platforms like BIM 360 or ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) to facilitate this integration.
Leverage data analytics and machine learning within BIM processes to predict potential project challenges, optimize resource allocation, and enhance decision-making. Use historical data to inform future projects and continuously improve project delivery.
Implement digital twins for ongoing facility management and operations, extending the value of BIM beyond the construction phase. Develop strategies for the seamless transition of BIM data to facility management teams, ensuring that digital twins are accurate reflections of the built environment.

Quality Control and Reviews

Conduct rigorous quality control checks on BIM models to ensure strict compliance with project requirements, international standards, and specifications, including adherence to ISO 19650 parts 1 and 2, which outline the organization and digitization of information about buildings and civil engineering works, including BIM.
Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in BIM workflows, tools, and processes through diligent research and experimentation. This includes exploring advancements in BIM technology that can enhance efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration across all project stages.
Utilize a comprehensive BIM checklist for every project phase to systematically verify that all necessary BIM standards, practices, and client requirements have been met. This checklist should be regularly updated to reflect the latest best practices and ensure continuous improvement.
Review all drawings and digital products with a meticulous eye for detail to ensure they meet the high-quality standards expected by our clients and are in full compliance with all relevant BIM and industry standards before submission. This includes the use of automated model-checking tools where appropriate to streamline the review process and ensure accuracy.

Personnel Management and Capacity Building

Provide training and support to staff members on BIM-related software tools, processes, etc.
Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies related to BIM implementation and advocate for their adoption within the firm.
Report to Senior Management on the implementation of digital delivery objectives, shortcomings, and areas for improvement.
Organize and lead BIM coordination meetings to review project progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment among project team members.

Workflow and Delivery Management

Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and other stakeholders for integration of project workflows and coordinate BIM-related activities.
Implement collaboration platforms integrated with BIM and oversee the development and maintenance of project-related BIM models, ensuring they accurately represent the project’s design and construction details.
Write macros or scripts to automate and optimize delivery processes.
Utilize BIM software tools to detect and resolve clashes or conflicts in the design phase to minimize errors and rework during construction.
Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration meetings and communication among design teams and external stakeholders/partners regarding digital integration and BIM coordination and collaboration platforms.
Engage with clients to demonstrate the value of BIM in project delivery, address their BIM-related requirements, and ensure client satisfaction with BIM implementation on.

Key Challenges

Centralization of Information: Emphasize the importance of centralizing information through BIM processes to keep all the teams and stakeholders consistently updated with the latest project data.
Real-time Updates and Workflow Management: Utilize BIM capabilities to support seamless workflows. This includes allowing teams to view real-time changes and manage tasks efficiently, crucial for timely project delivery and error reduction.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly assess the effectiveness of these action steps. Adjust strategies based on feedback and evolving project needs. Implement measures to gauge the success of digital delivery in projects and overall team performance.

Key Qualifications and Experience

15 years’ experience in large civil and/or mechanical engineering infrastructure projects.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Certification in BIM management or related fields, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a BIM-related role within the engineering industry.
Proven experience as a BIM Manager or in a similar role within the Engineering industry.
Strong knowledge and Experience of BIM software and tools, including Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Synchro 4D, Lumion, Infraworks, C#.net, 3D Max, and V-Ray.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C#.NET and Python for developing BIM tools and templates.
Skills in data visualization software such as Power BI for analyzing and presenting project data.
Excellent project management and leadership skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
