Head of Marketing

Job Purpose

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for oversight of marketing and communications strategies. Plan, coordinate and oversee implementation of marketing activities and campaigns, communicating the marketing plans and setting short-term and long-term department goals. The role will work in collaboration with segment leaders to deliver business growth that leads to higher profitability and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Develop marketing strategies and annual marketing plan to reach new customers and grow the business; Ensure appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed in order to meet and exceed the goals of the marketing strategy.
Craft ideas, plans and execute campaigns in conjunction with creative agency for all marketing: digital, advertising, promotional communications and creative that amplify brand and business objectives.
Preparing and managing monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for the Marketing department.
Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on Return of Marketing Initiatives (ROMI).
Oversee market research and analysis focused on overview of market trends, market data as well as competitor analysis which address attitudes, determining shifts in attitudes & customer behaviour, recommending service delivery initiatives including customer segmentation, service transformation and ensuring implementation of the research findings.
Review channels and new partnership overview and internal functionality to leverage on data to unlock potential of business and optimize performance.
Develop robust customer experience monitoring and evaluation program.
Attract, develop and retain a high performing team in order to achieve business objectives and drive an innovative culture.
Guide day to day activities of the marketing team.
Manage and refine the organization’s social media presence.
Manage and measure marketing campaign costs.
Conduct market research studies.
Continually review changes to the market, consumer trends and competitor activities, adjusting marketing plan where necessary.
Oversee all Segment marketing teams including regional teams, by providing guidance on all marketing, advertising, product launch and promotional activities.
Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the departments’ strategy map, balanced scorecard and Personal Scorecard with a particular emphasis on P&L KPIs.
Delegated Authority-As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix.

Key Performance Measures

Number of new customers on-boarded within the different segments.
Revenue growth as a result of marketing campaigns.
Return on Investment (ROI) on marketing spend.
Bachelor’s degree in Business related fields, a master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Professional qualifications in CIM and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
At least 12 – 15 years’ experience in a similar position; 8 years of which must be senior management level; in a highly competitive and fast growing financial services industry.
A proven track record of successful Marketing and Communications or a similar set up; with a demonstrated ability to position and create demand for brand equity and growth in market share.
Highly networked with excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and manage lasting relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders.
The ability to articulate and engage with both internal and external stakeholders; with effective negotiation and customer service skills.
An innovative and creative leader with the ability to think ‘outside the box’ and achieve exceptional tangible outcomes.
An effective and ethical leader with sound people skills and proven ability to build, retain and lead successful teams.
