Clinical Instructor – 2 Positions

Key responsibilities and duties/Job specifications:

Conduct Clinical Instructions both in wards and Skills Laboratory.
Prepare Skills Laboratory practical manuals in liaison with lecturers.
Develop and review Clinical Instruction Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), practical manuals.
Clinical supervision — coordinate student rotations and/or site visits and help students understand their duties in different Clinical settings.
Develop, implement, enforce, and review hospital measures and guidelines, and advise the department as required.
Provide mentorship and coaching to students both during and outside the formal evaluation and instruction arenas.
Participate in assessment of students in both formative and summative stages.
Advise the Department and University on Clinical instruction matters and services.
Act as a goodwill ambassador of the Clinical Medicine programme and the University.
Participate in community outreach programmes according to set schedule.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or equivalent qualification.
At least three years’ experience in Clinical instruction and mentorship of students in the clinical area.
Minimum three years of working experience in a busy hospital.
Must be registered with the Clinical Officers’ Council (COC) of Kenya and have a valid practicing license.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment plus (ETAT+) is an added advantage.
