Job Responsibilities
Manages new product development and research projects, including establishing of goals, objectives, and execution plan. Establishes specifications for product performance, processing parameters, and raw materials in the creation of new products.
Maintains detailed records of experimental work. Prepares technical summaries and periodic reports on assigned projects.
Works effectively with Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, and other personnel to coordinate new product development and existing product maintenance activities.
Provides technical direction and critical analysis when working with third parties in the design and development of a new product.
Follows up on new ideas from multiple sources (new ideas submitted from employees, suppliers, customers, consumers, inventors, and contractors.) Reviews these ideas for applicability to current market needs. Advances the most promising for consideration by Marketing.
Uses Voice of the Customer (VOC) method to identify and validate unmet needs, and to strengthen the product value proposition.
Uses Open Innovation methods to identify and develop new products.
Uses idea-sourcing methods (e.g. trade-shows, conferences, literature) to identify new product ideas.
Works with Marketing to identify unmet needs in key business segments and targets idea-gathering activities toward meeting those needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, marketing skills is an added advantage.
Able to design using AutoCAD.
Working experience of above 5years.
Detailed knowledge of project management with ability to co-ordinate and manage all aspects of a project.
Proven analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem solving.
Ability to maintain good client relationship.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Well presentable and good interpersonal skills.
