Roles & Responsibilities

Social Media & Content Development (~40% of your time)

Generating, curating, and managing all published content (images, video, copy, etc). This involves planning and creating content calendars, writing posts, and designing graphics that align with the brand’s voice and objectives.
Post 2-3 times weekly on our various social media channels – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok & YouTube ensuring all content created meets the platform’s best practices and EcoSafi’s brand guidelines.
Organize and host webinars or live events on social media platforms to educate, engage, and interact directly with our audience. Topics could range from product demonstrations to environmental discussions.
Responding to crises or negative feedback on social media in a manner that protects the brand’s reputation. This involves developing protocols for quickly and effectively addressing potential issues.
Keep an eye on what competitors do on social media to identify industry trends, opportunities, and threats.
Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance monthly using tools like Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, etc. This involves tracking key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of social media campaigns/strategies and adjusting plans based on data-driven insights.

Paid Media & Community Development (~20% of your time)

Assist in planning and executing strategic paid advertising campaigns across digital platforms (Meta, Google, Twitter, TikTok) to achieve objectives like awareness and lead capture. Tasks may include developing copy/creatives and implementing conversion tracking, audience creation, budget allocation, targeting, and ad optimization.
Assist in creating and implementing promotional campaigns for current customers, including text message copy, social media advertising, and paid media.
Develop and implement a strategy to continuously engage and interact with current EcoSafi customers, such as a community over WhatsApp or a newsletter where members can share recipes and cooking experiences or access discounts on cooking ingredients. You will be responsible for developing content weekly for this community.
Implement regular surveys or feedback mechanisms through social media or email to gather customer insights.

Brand Initiatives (~10%+ of your time)

Encourage and leverage user-generated content through contests or community challenges on social media.
Identify and collaborate with influencers and brand partners to create co-branded content or campaigns that can expand reach and engagement.
Plan and implement community service projects or initiatives for the team that aligns with EcoSafi’s values. This can enhance brand image and foster a sense of community.
Develop and communicate the company’s efforts on sustainability and social impact. Create reports and social media campaigns highlighting these initiatives to build brand reputation and consumer trust.

Other Projects (~30%+ of your time)

As our social media channels continue to gain traction, some of your attention will be put toward other projects for the first few months. We are always working on new and exciting initiatives and may need you to roll up your sleeves and dive in.
Initially, we will have you work closely with the call center team to better understand the customer – from prospect to retention, through phone calls and WhatsApp interactions.
Expect this role to continue to grow and adapt to EcoSafi’s needs.

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience in social media & digital marketing.
Fluent in English & Swahili with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A bachelor’s degree in business administration or marketing.
Directly managed social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok) and curated high-quality content.
Working experience with Meta, Google, Twitter, and TikTok ad platforms with a strong handle on analytics and conversion tracking. Ideally, you have managed accounts spending thousands of dollars across international markets.
Experience in utilizing AI-powered tools like ChatGPT to help accelerate and improve the quality of your work.
Certifications In: Google Adwords, Google Analytics, and Facebook Blueprint.
Proficient in using G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Slack or other team communication platforms.
