Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing project management, client liaison, and team coordination to ensure seamless execution of organizational objectives. Accurately maintain and update daily accounting records and financial transactions to ensure precise financial documentation.
Process and maintain accurate records of both accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and precise documentation and reconciliation of all financial activities.
Compile and input journal entries into the designated accounting software system.
Responsibilities include overseeing and updating general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Prepare financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure accurate and timely financial documentation.
Assist in compiling management accounts and financial statements to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain accurate and organized filing of financial documents and records.
Prepare and compile statutory returns and tax documentation as required.
Ensure adherence to Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) standards, as well as other applicable regulatory obligations, is maintained at all times.
Ensure meticulous documentation to meet audit and compliance standards.
Conduct comprehensive reconciliations of bank accounts and vendor statements to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial records.
Examine financial records meticulously to identify and rectify any discrepancies that may arise.
Support the establishment and enforcement of internal financial controls and systematic procedures.
Facilitate accurate payroll processing, perform precise salary calculations, manage deductions, and oversee benefits administration.
Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records at all times.
Track and oversee inventory transactions as well as stock movements to ensure accurate record-keeping and optimal supply levels.
Compare physical inventory counts with system records to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
Conduct inventory audits and analyze discrepancies to determine root causes and implement corrective actions as needed.
Support the computation of the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) through accurate data analysis and financial documentation.
Collaborate effectively with logistics and operations teams to ensure precise inventory management.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, alongside experience with database management systems and version control tools. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills are also necessary. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cloud computing platforms is highly preferred.
A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related business discipline is required.
Candidates should possess a Certified Public Accountant qualification, with a preference for those who have completed CPA Part II or higher.
A minimum of one to two years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, inventory management, or finance-related positions is required.
Proficiency in a retail, wholesale, distribution, e-commerce, or inventory-focused business setting is strongly preferred.
Required skills include expertise in accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with hands-on experience in platforms such as QuickBooks, Odoo, Zoho Books, Sage, or comparable solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with a strong command of Pivot Tables, Lookups, and advanced data analysis functions.
Experience with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software in a retail environment is required.
Proficient in inventory accounting methodologies and adept at managing stock control procedures.
