Job Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring Chief-Kenya’s adherence to all applicable Chief-Kenya, donor, and government policies and regulations. This will be accomplished by implementing and utilizing industry-leading project management frameworks, contributing substantially to the development of ERP internal control mechanisms, offering specialized guidance on donor-specific requirements and compliance standards, facilitating contract negotiations and reviews, and strengthening staff and organizational systems to uphold contractual and donor obligations.

Responsibilities entail overseeing and executing key duties associated with the position, including but not limited to strategic planning, team coordination, and project management. Duties encompass analyzing operational data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Additionally, responsibilities include fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations, and maintaining high standards of quality and performance. The role demands strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

To maintain the effectiveness and compliance of existing internal control systems with Donor regulations and Chief-Kenya policies.

Conduct thorough reviews of existing processes, practices, and documentation to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.

Perform quarterly donor compliance spot checks and compile the quarterly report for submission to the Board and CEO. This involves examining sample documents from Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants, as well as sharing findings with appropriate staff and departments to initiate corrective measures.

In partnership with the Board and CEO, facilitate technical assistance or conduct educational initiatives for all departments and staff regarding donor compliance matters.

Assist in developing and enhancing internal control mechanisms and optimizing the finance, procurement, and reporting functionalities of the proposed Chief ERP system.

Drive the development of robust internal control frameworks for ERP systems, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Provide assistance in designing Internal Controls and enhancing business systems and reporting components within the Chief ERP system on an ongoing basis.

Play a key role in conducting thorough risk evaluations and maintaining up-to-date entries in the risk register.

Investigations are to be initiated and carried out as needed.

Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of experience in a comparable role. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management software. Additionally, excellent communication abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team environment are essential.

A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a specialization in Accounting or a closely related discipline, complemented by the Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) designation, is required.

Seeking a candidate with Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) credentials, accompanied by at least eight years of hands-on experience in auditing, accounting, and ERP system deployment.

Demonstrated expertise in conducting audits for projects financed by USAID, CDC, and various other development collaborators.

Proficient in both written and verbal English communication, with exceptional clarity and fluency.

Exceptional organizational abilities, acute attention to detail, and strong prioritization skills are essential. The role also requires the capacity to collaborate effectively with professionals from both operational and financial backgrounds.

Proficient in utilizing the full suite of Microsoft Office applications, including advanced capabilities in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
