THE JOB
As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various instrumentation systems and equipment used in cement manufacturing processes. The job requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of various instrumentation and control systems, including pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, level sensors, and analytical instruments.
Diagnose and resolve issues with control loops, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, motor controls, and other electrical and electronic devices.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential faults or malfunctions and take appropriate measures to rectify them.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive maintenance activities for instrumentation systems to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new instrumentation systems and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including schedules, work orders, and equipment manuals.
Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations during maintenance and repair tasks.
Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in instrumentation and control systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
The job holder should have the following qualifications.
Minimum of 11 years of proven working experience as an Instrumentation Technician in a cement manufacturing or similar heavy industrial environment is mandatory.
A diploma in instrumentation, electronics and electrical engineering, technical certifications or vocational training in instrumentation or electrical engineering is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of various instrumentation devices, control systems, and PLC/DCS programming.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment for troubleshooting and calibration procedures.
Experience in interpreting electrical and instrumentation diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
