Role Summary
This position will report to the Manager, Supply Chain and will work closely with other members of the shared services team. Senior Officer Store supervises deliveries of goods into warehouses and ensures products are accounted for, stored safely and securely, and are dispatched efficiently to the Users. They also manage warehouse staff, which includes ensuring that they are working safely and efficiently.
The role holder will:
Plan, organize, and supervise daily warehouse operations by training, evaluating, and assigning tasks to warehouse employees, reviewing and preparing workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards.
Process requisitions, maintain inventory levels and reconcile with the SunSystems balances. Determine, implement stock codes and item descriptions in the SunSystems.
Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency by establishing and managing operational goals, maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse and ensuring compliance with the Company’s policies and vision by Initiating, coordinating and enforcing optimal operational policies and procedures.
Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long term performance goals and ensure ethical use of computers and specialized warehouse equipment.
Facilitates goods and materials receipt, confirmation of quantities and quality for coding and storage. Collaborate with the logistics team, suppliers, and departmental transportation teams and ensure timely delivery of orders to the users.
Verifying of data entered into the SunSystem software, analysing, investigating and highlighting problems related to materials and goods stocks; Facilitates storage security while ensuring correct material and goods handling, storage and movement;
Ensuring proper documentation and accurate filing within the stores section and Stimulates documents verification and invoice clearance for payment.
Carry out any other duties that may be required to be carried out from time to time by the management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must have a Diploma or higher in supply chain/Stores Management/procurement/Logistics or any other related course.
Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required
Must be proficient in Computer applications i.e. Microsoft suite and Google work space.
Knowledge of warehousing and stock control methods, materials, and equipment.
Familiarity with inventory management and record-keeping.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
Capacity to lift, move, sort, and store objects.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Results-oriented with a positive attitude and energy
Flexibility and lateral thinking for adapting to changing situations.
