POSITION REPORT TO:
SUPERVISOR, MAJOR REPAIR SHOP
DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates metal working machines for fabrication, rework, and repair of metal parts.
Measures broken or worn-out parts, using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
Draws working sketches, consults shop drawings, select materials, determine machines, and hand tools required and plan sequence of operations.
Refer to machinist charts and tables, make calculations as required, select cutting tools, speed, and feeds.
Applies knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machine procedures.
Perform various machine tool cutting operations using power backsaw, turning, drilling, boring, facing, reaming, cutting threads and tapers. Using lathe; cutting gears, slots, and keyways, square and hexagonal on bolts and similar work pieces, using milling machine; planning flat and angular surfaces using the shaper; drilling and finishing holes by reaming, counter boring, countersinking, spot facing or threading using drill press.
Clean parts, before and after machining in agitator-type cleaning tanks to remove grease and oil particulates.
Operates lathe, boring, or honing machines to refinish internal surfaces of bearing connecting rods.
Verifies dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to ensure adherence to tolerance and specifications.
Spray worn parts with molten aluminum, zinc, or other materials to build up parts.
Examine parts for fractures using Magna flux test equipment.
Operates drum lathe to resurface brake drums or discs.
Assemble engines in short, long, or full assemble configurations.
Performs other related duties that may be assigned by Foreman and Supervisor.
BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Must know machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Must have an extensive knowledge of metals, alloys, and other materials used in the automotive industry.
Must speak, read, and understand the English language.
Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License are required

EDUCATION:
Must have at least a high school diploma, technical or vocational course graduate is required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years of journeyman level experience and 3 years of experience as a Machinist.
Basic terms of the job offer.
Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance and project status.
Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $636.00 (based on 48 hr. work week requirement)
Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
Payroll period: Monthly. Amount give take home.
Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday, will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.
Accommodations: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided
Sick Leave: Employee will accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service, beginning with the completion of the first full month of Foreign Service employment.
Annual leave Up to 21 days paid at the end of each 12-month contract.
Travel will be provided by the employer to the employee’s home country.

Your driver’s license must be valid for at least 6 months (unless processing for a CDL-required position, which will require 12 months remaining).
